Green Hair Colour?

July 6, 2009

Thankfully, lately you can’t turn on your television, open a newspaper or surf the net without hearing some talk of what we have done to our earth and the changes it is going through. Product developers and ordinary citizens alike are hearing the call for greener alternatives to the products and services we use. Car manufacturers, grocers, governments are all waking to the demands of a changed world.  Schwarzkopf Professional has joined the ranks of those making a positive difference giving us more earth-friendly alternatives for our day-to-day lives.

Schwarzkopf has developed a line of hair colour that is both performance-driven and environmentally responsible.  Essensity’s colour assortment is an ammonia- and fragrance-free line that contains more that 90% naturally derived ingredients. Wherever possible, Essensity has removed synthetic ingredients that do not compromise beautiful, long-lasting colour.

Using Ectoin and fine-filtered bees wax, the colour products are free of not only ammonia and fragrance, but also paraffin oils, silicones and formaldehyde-derivates. The line offers protection against outside influences to ensure lasting colour and shine and actually stabilizes the hair structure while colour sets.

Essensity contains gently fermented natural Ectoin. Known throughout the skin care industry as protective, Ectoin can be widely found in anti-aging creams and sun protection products. The natural bees wax, which contains Vitamin A and mineral nutrients, adds suppleness and natural shine to hair.

The results: incredible colour with less impact on our earth.  That’s right, there is no need to choose one over the other. If you’re interested in this new, environmental responsible hair colour option, let us know when you are in discussing colour options.
